Captain Ervin McKoy, Jr. has been involved with the Salvation Army for over twenty-five years. He started his adventure with the Army as a Recreation Aid in the Philadelphia Germantown Corps. From there, he served as Community Center Director at both the Philadelphia West and Temple Corps. He is known for his leadership in developing Sports Fellowship Programs in these urban and diverse communities.
Captain McKoy has an undergrad degree in Physical Education and a Master's Degree in Social Administration and Program Planning. Both degrees were earned at Temple University. Following their commission in 1995, Captain McKoy and his wife Ann were appointed as Corps Officers to the Brooklyn Bushwick Corps. From there he was stationed at the New Jersey Divisional Headquarters where he served in the position of Divisional Secretary. In July of 1997, the Captain was privileged to be a delegate to the International Conference on World Evangelization in Johannesburg, South Africa. A subsequent trip to Africa found the Captain working with a team of officers and soldiers on building projects and evangelistic meetings.
In 2002, Captain McKoy was appointed as a delegate to the International College for Officers in London, England. Captain McKoy, along with wife Ann and their two children, are presently serving in the Greater New York Division as Corps Commanding Officers of the Harlem Temple Corps. Captain McKoy's hobbies include woodworking, visual presentation development, playing the piano and bass guitar, gospel music and male program development. One day he hopes to build his retirement home!
